Hantavirus
Hantavirus can be transmitted by rodents
Hantavirus is transmitted to people when they inhale airborne particles contaminated by the saliva or excretions of infected rodents. The symptoms are similar to other common illnesses and include sudden fever, muscle pain, and fatigue.
The ThermaPureHeat® process has been successful in the disinfection of sites contaminated with Hantavirus. The process was utilized in a project involving the disinfection of 44 cabins used by the National Park Service throughout Yosemite National Park.
The temperature of a structure will be raised to 150°F using the ThermaPureHeat® process and maintained for two hours. This time and temperature is more than enough to kill Hantavirus.
